What causes the failure of permanent magnet variable frequency screw compressors?

During the operation of equipment and machines, some malfunctions are inevitable, and the permanent magnet

variable frequency air compressor, which is known as an energy-saving device, is no exception. The common

malfunctions of the permanent magnet variable frequency air compressor are overheating and shutdown

due to high temperature. This kind of malfunction usually occurs more frequently in summer. So, what are

the main causes? The technicians of Dongguan Meibo Air Compressor answer for you

1. Low level of cooling oil: When the cold machine is inspected and the oil level is lower than the lower

end of the inspection tube, it should be replenished immediately.

2. Low oil grade or poor oil quality: This machine uses screw air compressor oil. If other low-grade or inferior

oils are used, the viscosity and specific heat will not meet the standards, resulting in excessively high temperatures.

3. The oil filter is too dirty: This machine has three oil filters placed side by side. When they are too dirty,

the resistance oil cannot enter the compressor at the normal flow rate, and the compressor will heat up rapidly

due to insufficient cooling and lubricating oil. When the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet oil exceeds 0.18MPa,

the filter element needs to be replaced.

4. Radiator blockage: When there is a lot of dust around the air compressor, long-term operation will cause

a layer of dust or oil sludge to adhere to the surface of the radiator, and the internal copper tubes are also

prone to blockage due to the accumulation of oil sludge, thereby affecting the heat dissipation effect.

5. Poor ventilation and heat dissipation conditions in the environment: There are mainly three situations

where the surrounding environment of the screw air compressor affects heat dissipation: First, it is too

close to wall-like obstacles; Second, there are other heat sources near the air compressor. Third, the front

door and side door of the air compressor are open during operation, and the fan cannot form a strong

airflow.

The above are the six major causes of air compressor failure. Regular maintenance and daily upkeep of air

compressors need to be carried out in a timely manner to reduce the probability of air compressor failures.

Only by taking preventive measures in advance can safe production be ensured.
