What aspects should be considered when choosing an air compressor?

Air compressors are common power equipment in enterprises. They are devices that convert mechanical

They are widely used in various industries including mining, textiles, metallurgy, mechanical manufacturing, 

civil engineering, petrochemicals, etc. Air compressors are indispensable key equipment for the production 

and operation of many enterprises, so the selection of air compressors is of great significance.


When choosing the model of an air compressor, I think the following aspects should be considered:

First, consider the exhaust pressure and exhaust volume of the air compressor

1) Exhaust pressure of the air compressor

The exhaust pressure of general-purpose air compressors for air power is 0.7Mpa and 0.8Mpa. 

If the exhaust pressure you are using is between 0.8Mpa and 1.2Mpa, you can choose the Shanghai

2) The exhaust volume of the air compressor

Exhaust volume is one of the main parameters of an air compressor. When choosing the exhaust volume

 of an air compressor, it should be matched with the required air flow rate, and a margin of ten percent 

should be left.


Second, consider the air quality of the air compressor

The compressed air produced by general air compressors usually contains a certain amount of lubricating

oil and a certain amount of water vapor. When the usage site is oil-free and water-free, not only the 

model of the air compressor should be paid attention to, but also the post-treatment unit of the air 

compressor.


Third. Consider the operational risks of the air compressor

An air compressor is a machine that operates under pressure, accompanied by temperature rise and 

pressure during operation. It is necessary to reduce the risk factor of its operation to zero. The state 

implements a pressure vessel production license (for air storage tanks) for air compressors with a capacity

 of ≥0.03 cubic meters. 

Therefore, when purchasing air compressor products, for those with a ≥0.03m³ air storage tank, it is 

necessary to strictly review whether there is a "Pressure Vessel Production License (Air Storage Tank)" and

 whether there is a pressure vessel supervision and inspection certificate issued by the regulatory 

department. Only with the certificate can the purchase be made.


Four. Consider the specific power of the air compressor

Is the air compressor energy-efficient? It's not about how large the exhaust volume of the unit is or 

what the power of the motor is, but about the specific power of the unit. The lower the specific power 

of the unit, the more energy-efficient it is.
